Cygnific welcomes Peter Bastmeijer as new Director of Finance, Reporting & Control

In an exciting development, Cygnific is happy to introduce Peter Bastmeijer as the new Director of Finance, Reporting & Control, effective as of 1 February. He has taken over the reins from Julius de Jong, who has been doing his secondment for the past three years in this function. He will, in turn, take exciting new steps continuing a successful career at KLM.

Peter’s Journey

With over 25 years of experience in various roles at KLM, Peter brings a lot of knowledge and a proven track record to the playing field. His journey began at KLM Corporate Control, where he played a key role in managing the consolidated balance sheets, cash flows, and profit and loss statements for both KLM and the KLM Group.

Peter ventured into the Alliance Finance department of KLM, overseeing the financial settlement of the KLM-Northwest Airlines partnership. After a stint as Manager Planning & Control back at KLM Corporate Control, his path took him to Budapest in 2006, where he served as the Establishment Controller for Central & Eastern Europe. This is also where he met our Managing Director Marco Redeker.

Upon his return to the Netherlands in 2007, Peter assumed various roles. His most recent assignment was as the Business Controller for KLM Inflight Services in 2019, overseeing a global team responsible for 9000 cabin crew, crew facilities, and catering services.

Expressing his excitement about joining Cygnific, Peter shared, “I am very happy and feel privileged to start working at Cygnific. I hope that with my experience at KLM I am able to contribute to Cygnific’s ambition to grow”.
